HOW TO FISH A CIRCLE HOOK
Don't strike. Let the rod load up and start winding — the hook pulls into the corner of the jaw on its own. Strike hard and you'll pull it straight back out. If you've only ever fished J-hooks it takes a session or two to break the habit.
WORTH KNOWING
- They're not stainless. Black nickel handles salt well, but leave them sitting wet in a tray and they'll spot up eventually
- The point is offset — great on bait, but not the hook if you're fishing water that specifies non-offset circles for release
- These are a solid working hook at a fair price, not a hand-honed Japanese hook, and we won't pretend otherwise
